Player Code of Conduct
As a member of Renegades Basketball, each player agrees to:
-
Play for fun and enjoyment of the sport.
-
Understand that winning is a consideration, but not the only one — nor the most important one.
-
Work hard to improve skills and overall performance.
-
Be a team player and cooperate with teammates.
-
Arrive on time for all practices and games.
-
Learn the rules and play by them.
-
Respect coaches, teammates, parents, opponents, and officials.
-
Never argue with the decision of an official or coach.
-
Respect the playing court and surrounding areas.
Zero-Tolerance Behavior
Arguing with officials or teammates, fighting, or obscene behavior will be considered conduct detrimental to the team. Players engaging in such behavior will be removed from the program.
Parent Code of Conduct
Parents and guardians play a vital role in creating a positive environment. As part of Renegades Basketball, parents agree to:
-
Support their child’s desire to participate — never force participation.
-
Remember that children play sports for enjoyment — help make it fun.
-
Encourage playing by the rules and lead by example.
-
Applaud good plays from both teams.
-
Avoid yelling at players, coaches, or officials.
-
Emphasize skill development over competition.
-
Learn and respect the rules of the game.
-
Applaud effort in both victory and defeat.
-
Respect and support volunteer coaches.
-
Display sportsmanship at all tournaments, scrimmages, and practices.
-
Allow the coach to do the coaching — parents may not coach from the sidelines.
Our development structure ensures that each player receives feedback from one voice during practices and games — the coaching staff.
Renegades Basketball is committed to creating a positive learning environment. Parents, coaches, and players are all expected to serve as positive role models.
